Customer ID

The queue is endless. The rent is due. The only way to survive is to sell your soul... or preserve it.

In Customer ID, you play as a cashier trapped in the chaotic rhythm of a Filipino supermarket. The air conditioner is broken, the customers are restless, and management is watching. To survive, you cannot just scan items; you must balance the books, the law, and your own morality.

The core of survival is the Transaction System. Every customer is a puzzle of patience and policy. Scan too slow, and they leave angry. Scan too fast, and you miss the expired ID. Accept the bribe to feed your family, or uphold the law and risk starving? Every beep of the scanner has a cost.

Key Features & Mechanics

The Checkout Gauntlet:

  • The Scanner: Your weapon of choice. Mismatched barcodes, failing hardware, and manual entry codes test your dexterity under pressure.
  • ID Verification: Minors trying to buy alcohol. Fake IDs. Expired licenses. You are the gatekeeper—one slip up means a fine you can't afford.
  • The Queue: A living, breathing timer. Manage the flow or face the wrath of the "Karen" archetypes and impatient crowds.

The Moral Economy:

  • The Bribe: Desperate customers may offer you extra cash to look the other way. Do you take it to reach your daily quota, or stay clean?
  • The Debt: You have bills to pay. Failing your daily sales quota leads to penalties, debt, and eventually, the end of your career.
  • Reputation: Your choices echo. Become the "People's Cashier" and get community perks, or the "Company Dog" and get management bonuses but social scorn.

The Manager's Test:

  • The Mystery Shopper: Management sends spies. Sometimes they test your honesty; sometimes they test your loyalty. Spotting them is the difference between a bonus and a pink slip.
  • CCTV Surveillance: You are being watched. Stealing from the till is possible, but risky. The camera never blinks.

System Failure Events:

  • Power Outage: The lights go out. The scanners die. You are left with a calculator, a flashlight, and a line of angry people. Manual entry only.
  • The Robbery: A gun in your face. Do you trigger the silent alarm, hand over the cash, or try to talk them down? Your reputation determines if you survive.

Boss Battles (The Difficult Customers):

  • The Karen: Armed with expired coupons and a demand for the manager. She attacks your patience and your quota.
  • The Shady Dealer: Tries to launder fake bills through your register. Spot the counterfeits or pay the difference yourself.

Will you keep the change, or be the change?
